Anger Management
Devon’s anger management group focuses on teaching patients healthier ways of managing feelings of frustration and anger. This will specifically help patients learn to cope by using emotional regulation skills and be able to recognize when their anger is escalating to an unhealthy level. Anger is a normal and natural emotion, however, when it manifests itself in unhealthy ways, it is time to address the issue. This group is an excellent step to aiding someone who struggles with managing their anger. This anger management group will teach patients to gain a perspective on their anger and provide ways to stay calm in situations they may have reacted to prior. The group will focus on the sharing of personal experiences with opportunity for practice within the group setting to gain a better idea of how to apply the newly learned techniques to everyday life. This group follows a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) format which will make it easier for patients to identify their triggers and the anger and frustration behind their actions.
Devon is holding a twelve-week anger management group this upcoming September (2019) which will meet once a week. The group will be comprised of six to eight patients separated by age.
